Ten good things about the election

I struggled to think of ten good things about this election.
  1. It's over.
  2. Sarah Palin can move on to bigger and better things.
  3. The Democrats didn't get the seats they needed in the Senate.
  4. The rest of the world is ecstatic (it's a national holiday in Kenya!).
  5. Prop 102 passed in AZ.
  6. Prop 8 looks like it's going to pass in CA.
  7. Now Obama will pay my mortgage and gas (oh yeah, we don't fit in that demographic!).
  8. John McCain's concession speech was genuinely kind.
  9. There is going to be plenty of fodder for talk radio for the next four (hopefully only four) years.
  10. It's over!
It's funny how even the small kids have become polarized by this election. I picked up Lily's friends from tumbling yesterday, and they all were rooting for McCain for various reasons: Obama looks evil, Obama is going to take my money (and I have $75 of my own money!), vote McCain, Obama's a pain! It was hilarious to hear their parents' ideas trickling through their 8-year-old filters.
In all honesty, I truly hope that Obama does some good things for our country. I hope that the next four years are times of good change and economic positivity. Here's hoping.
