GIFTED EDUCATION

I am currently attending Arizona State University, where I am getting my master's degree in Gifted Education: Curriculum and Instruction. I am the mother of seven children, all of whom fall somewhere on the gifted/talented spectrum. Parenting a gifted child is difficult, and oftentimes these unique struggles and challenges are met with disdain, disagreement, or intolerance from others. Here are a few posts I've written, targeting some of the challenges faced by gifted kids and the parents who love them.

A series of five posts that focus on gifted education:

A Few of My Thoughts on Education

Academically Gifted vs. Intellectually Gifted

Public Education and the Intellectually Gifted

Society and the Gifted

Learning vs. Education--Where Do We Go from Here?

A blog post about Ender Wiggin and the perspective of being gifted in a society that doesn't understand:  Giftedness and Ender's Game

My crazy brain while it's doing schoolwork

A gifted teacher at work with my boys

A little venting on what it's like to parent a houseful of gifted kids:
