Where Have All My Thoughts Gone?

I've noticed the absence of creative deep thought the last few weeks.

Where have you gone, mind of mine?

A casualty of the season.

A casualty of newborn schedule.

A casualty of impending wedding to be planned.

One day I hope the deep thoughts will return.
For now, I'm lucky to match my shoes, make dinner for my family, and remember to change the laundry before it mildews. Oh, and it's Christmas in eight days.

I'll think in 2010.

  1. I have just 2 children under 5 and I can't think deep thoughts or even remember why I walked into a certain room! You are doing just fine... give yourself a break and enjoy the season of the Miracle of Christ's birth. ~Dot

  2. I don't believe you! I always love your thoughts. But if it makes you feel any better, I've been struggling too. I'm hoping it's just newborn baby stuff and not an age issue (because those don't go away!).

  3. I feel your pain. I just re read some of my posts from last year, and sadly, I was WAY cooler then. I can't ever seem to get out of the house, and I DON'T have a newborn this year. Wht is my deal? I don't know. Anyway, I think you're doing grand just keeping up with your tribe.

  4. About the sleeping issues... yes, beware of what will come. But then I am always a sucker to the "you are only small for such a short while and I will hold you every second I can" theory. Oh I am torn! Enjoy! And, what is creative thought? I don't think I ever had any even before I had babes! But then that is why I love reading you and others who think and are able to express those thoughts so eloquently.

  5. You're right, Kristen. The age issues don't go away. I know. I'm there!

But your brain will return, Jen. For a while anyway.
