Organized or OCD?

This is a test. What do you think? Is this organized or unrealistic OCD?
How about this one?

Note the label-maker labels noting the sizes of the sheets.

Why do I love organized closets and shelves so very much?  Why can't my family appreciate it as as much as I do and keep them like this?  Why oh why oh why?

  1. My mom organizes her clothes in her closet by style, color, whether it has stripes, etc. LOL. You can come to my house and organize my stuff. haha.

  2. I think it's admirable, enviable and perhaps even do-able - but not by me! Anytime that you're in the Pacific Northwest you're welcome to practice on my closets!

  3. Totally organized...to which it shall last .5 seconds. I don't know why the wee ones and husbands just DON'T get the glory of the cleanly stacked goodness. Good luck in keeping it that way.

Ok, ok, the labeling..THAT may be OCD. But, I still love ya.

  4. I just felt so good realizing that I actually have cupboards and closets that look as good as yours! Some don't, but SOME DO! Hahaha! The label usage is brilliant... who can ever remember which set is which size without having to unfold them all? Great job!

  5. This is beautiful!!!!! I don't know why you'd label it any other way... :D

  6. Okay I was going to say Organized, but then I saw the labels and I have to say OCD, but in the nicest, sweetest way :)

  7. Definitely just organized. If you were ocd, they would be perfectly ironed and starched too.
I want shelves like that as well. Too bad I've never been bothered to label things and my family is totally unappreciative of my effeorts to organize.

    Enjoy the day

  9. My initial response was organized. But, then I saw the labels... Hmmmm. Not sure if it's OCD, maybe just really, really organized. And, I agree with Pondside. Anytime you're near South Central PA please, please come and organize my closets...and the rest of my house while you're at it.

  10. Seems as Moms we are always trying to stay one step ahead of the closet & drawer monkeys who wreak havoc upon them!! Why don't you print off these pics & put them in their respective places & then when they are a mess they will have a "visual reminder"?! I am off to the water park today...so I won't be worrying about my disorganized, non-OCD closets!!

  11. Organized. Mine are about as tidy as yours, and I refuse to let anyone give me any crap. Some day, if you are very good, I'll let you see the labeled basket system I devised (and still use, 3 years later) for my upright deep-freeze.

  12. I prefer to simply say extremely organized and refute the title/label of OCD! I can completely commiserate with you about the family not keeping your shelves the same way you do. They are labeled so how hard it is... I do not mind as much when my linen gets "messed up" but my baking supply (pans, dishes, trays, decorating tools, etc.) closet and pantry... that nearly brings me to tears.

  13. Organized, I think it only falls into OCD when you freak out if someone messes it up. If you just get irritated and fix it again after a while that's just a Mom's life. Now, if your cans all have to face the same way, and your towels have to be perfectly hung and aligned-I have a little movie with Julia Roberts in it for you to review!

  14. By the way-labeling doesn't make it OCD, it just gives the kids/husband absolutely no excuse for not putting things back exactly where they go! My kitchen drawers ONLY stay manageable because of the labels. As you know, a label maker is a Mom's best friend!

  15. The label maker sent you on over to the OCD category!
    But hey...I'm just jealous!
I should post my linen closet...scary..I never really learned how to fold fitted sheets!
    Have a great day!

  16. I think as mom's if we don't organize nobody will.
    It's a matter of survival :D

    Have a GREAT day Jen!!

  17. I think you and my husband may have hatched from the same egg.

    Labels and all.

  18. I may not do the labeling, but I do love me folded and organized linens. I worked at a fine linen shop for a couple of years and actually learned how to properly fold a fitted sheet. Anyone want lessons? (Easier than you'd think) I also used to iron them with scented ironing water too, but that was awhile back. Now THAT'S OCD!

  19. It's very organized. The labels...well maybe that's a little OCD, but coming from an OCD sister, I love it!

  20. The label's are over the top! hahahahahahahah!!!!! You would fall over if you saw my extra sheets in ... Trash Bags in my closet. oh my, I need help.

  21. Looks fine to me! What problem? I need to borrow your label maker! Mine is done in Sharpie!

  22. I really love how organized you are. In fact, I'm envious :) I really wish I had such nice looking closets but without real shelves to use, everything just piles up on the inside. Looking at your closets...yes, definitely feeling pangs of jealousy now :) I'm going to have to clean out my closet and reorganize :)

  23. NEVER too neat and definitely NOT to OCD. Of course, I'm not really the one to ask. :)

  24. I wish some of that could rub off on me! In a few weeks I'm going back home to 112 loads of laundry all bagged in garbage bags in my basement ready to be put away. I think organization will be the last thing on my mind!

  25. Jen - I teared up for a few reasons: 1) the beauty of an organized closet; 2) my pure envy and desire to have mine look that PRETTY; 3) my family does not appreciate the time spent to organize either.

The labels made me snort/laugh really loud! We have two label makers...er, um, I have two label makers. One on the fridge (it came with a fabulous magnet holder) and one in the laundry closet.

    Beautiful organization! (Not OCD!)

  26. I wish I was a little more like that. I get jealous of organized people. Oh how I wish I was...but alas. I am not. You just might go insane looking at my linen closet. Sigh!

  27. That is organized!!! And I LOVE it! My closets only stay that way for a few days after I clean them out. Still trying desperately to train the other people in this house to put things where they belong. :-)

  28. not sure what right answer is, but either way i'm envious - LOVE!
