D is for Defense of My Sudden Disappearance

I have been the recipient of a few worried emails the last two days at my sudden disappearance from cyberspace. I'm sorry if I've alarmed anyone.
But in my defense:

Early last week, we got a call from Tucker. And in that phone call, he expressed his first twinge of homesickness--the first time he'd even admitted missing us at all. This strums a mother's heart unlike any other request.
Since Friday marked the beginning of October break, I mobilized the troops, and we all headed to Utah for a few days. Heidi and Sam came down from Rexburg, and we spent a leisurely few days away from computers and internet and blogging and responsibilities.
And we enjoyed being together.

Sorry if my sudden disappearance caused undue alarm or concern. I was hanging in Provo, loving my kiddos, loving the gorgeous fall weather and loving BYU football (for the first time this season).

I promise to answer emails, questions, concerns, even a tag from England quickly.

Oh.

I almost forgot.

And I found out that I'm going to be a grandma.
That will require a post all its own.

Brought to you by the letter D at Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday.

  2. It was so fun to hear the news of your impending grandmotherhood. I watched the little video that Sam made of telling the family the news. I LOVED Tucker's reaction. You are absolutely right. The fall weather right now couldn't be better. Hope you all had a good time.

  18. Woo Hoo! Being a grandma is so fabulous! I love my kids but my grandbaby is just different. You will only understand when it happens. It is kinda like when you are pregnant with your second child and feel sorry for them because you know you can't love them like your first - bwahahaha!!

  19. I never said Thank you for bringing that bag of stuff. Sorry the chips caused such trauma! It really would not have been that big a deal. Having you all over was the highlight of my week. I'm just sad I didn't get to see more of everyone. And Ben is one funny dude. :) Just sayin'. Oh, and I keep remembering Heidi's pregnant and it just keeps making me ridiculously happy and excited and thrilled all over again. yay! Glad the troops got home safe.

So glad you got to go up and have a wonderful time.

I agree with Jen, you are WAY to young to be a grandma, but that will be one LUCKY grandbaby for sure!!!

  29. Oh my? A grandma? Congratulations! I'm already looking forward to holding a little one again. But then I've had an eight year break. I was so homesick when I went away to school. It is so wonderful you are close enough to do these impromptu visits.
