On Mothering, Part 3

I often wonder why people have the number of kids that they do.  I know that there is often a story attached to that number.

I'd love to hear your story.  Did you want 2 boys and a girl when you were twelve years old, pick out their names, stick to your guns, and voila--here they are?  Was motherhood something you never envisioned for yourself and still don't?  Was this an accidental journey or a purposeful ride?

Adopted/biological/none.  Boys/girls/both.  Fertile/infertile.

I do realize that this could be a little personal for some. One thing I've learned from blogging is this:  When I read someone's honest story, I grow.  I grow more compassionate or informed or amused.

Hope you'll think about this one and join up with our linky party on Wednesday.  I can't wait to hear about your own journeys.

  4. I'm looking forward to your story. I did a post similar to this not too long ago. It is a very personal subject, but I've found for me it can be very healing to tell my story and hear other's stories.
    Thanks for another great idea.

  7. Darn you Jen!
I always knew I would share my story (not that it's anything crazy!)...but I didn't know I would do it so soon! Even I am usually curious when someone says they have only one child.

Hmmmm...10 on 10 Wednesday or personal story....that's a tough one!

  12. I'll think about it. I used to tell the story all the time, but now that my children are grown it's their story too (well it has always been their story, but it seem more theirs now)so.........I'll think about it.

It seems that my story may be a little ho-hum ~as in boring...but worthy of posting just the same.I'll try to spice it up a bit.

  15. I'd share my story, but I don't really have one. It can be pretty much summed up in two words, "Maybe someday."
