Foto Friday--Good Night, Baltimore

I must say, one of the top five vacations of my life. Nothing spectacular. Just loved every second.

Loved the people. So kind, polite, helpful.

Loved the city. So clean, accessible, beautiful.

Loved the countryside. So scenic, creative, educational.
I told Brad, more than once, that I'm moving here.

He told me I better find a sugar daddy to support me.

But in all seriousness, I want to find a fully furnished farmhouse to lease, somewhere in rural MD, VA, or PA where I can stay with my four littlest kids for at least three weeks this summer, maybe even four. (and possibly bringing a trailer full of goodies home?) Anybody out in that neck of the woods who can help me out?
Thank you, Baltimore.  I'll never forget you.

Have a fantastic fall weekend.  Temperatures in AZ are dipping to the low 80s.  It really is FALL!

And, as a side note, Laura at Living a Big Story posted a link today to my life as a Mormon series.   Thanks, Laura, for you nice words.  You're really kind.

  1. I'll bet someone will see this and know someone who knows someone's sister's aunt's brother-in-law who is taking care of his mother's four bedroom farmhouse on the Eastern Shore.
    Good luck!

  2. We lived in Chadds Ford PA for a while. It is beautiful! And it is 34 degrees here right now. Forget fall...that's winter! Yikes.

  3. Incredible pictures! So glad you had a fantastic trip. Hope you find your farmhouse, that sounds like lots of fun! One of my very favorite parts of the time we lived in NY was traveling all over the Northeast. It was so much fun to camp in Maine and taste Maple syrup in Vermont, and see all the history everywhere. Fingers crossed for you.

  4. Can I come next summer ... don't people always take their elderly aunt on getaways to the countryside?

  5. I would love to do exactly the same thing! Too bad all of mine are all grown up now and have their own lives.

    *sigh*

  7. Oh my goodness, send this post to the Baltimore Tourism Commission and they will buy you a house! They usually have to pay people to say it's clean! I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit. I hope you are able to make those plans happen.

  8. I will ask my Great Aunts. They have a fabulous 150+ year old farmhouse that is the joy of my life. It's in PA and for awhile was a bed and breakfast. I wonder if they'd rent it to you for a few weeks. You would LOVE my beloved Spring Hill and the surrounding countryside. It's only a couple hours from Palmyra and 3 hours from NYC. Oh, and can I come with you? hehehe

  11. i have this yearning for farm life where i want to move into the country and have acres of land, with cows, pigs, and chickens to take care of. i imagine looking out my wrap around porch onto our corn fields (think field of dreams) and watching my kids playing in the sunset. but then i remember i want to go to costco every week and be able to run to the store for bananas if i am out, and have an airport within 30 minutes. the two just don't go together when reality comes into play, but i really love your 3-4 week idea:)
