Micah's Baptism

When a child turns eight in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they are eligible to be baptized. When a young man turns sixteen years old, he is eligible to be ordained a priest in the Aaronic Priesthood and then baptize. Micah was so lucky that Ben turned sixteen in April. It's kind of cool to get baptized by your big brother.
I love this picture.  Notice the missionary whose picture is right above Micah's?  All four of my boys.

This is both of the boys in front of the font.  Although Ben struggled a little getting the positioning all correct, he did a great job.  When he was brought up out of the water, he turned and looked at the small group assembled and gave a genuinely happy smile.
Not very many people could make it to the baptism--summer crazy schedules and vacation. I was glad our in-town cousins came.  And I displayed Grandma T's comforter and talked about the Holy Ghost and how it will be the Comforter for Micah the rest of his life. Evie was not about to get her picture taken that day, no matter what. I emailed a few of these pictures to Tucker, and he couldn't believe how different Lily looks now.  His words, "Lily's a WOMAN!"
I'm proud of my boys--Micah for making this important decision to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Ben for being worthy to baptize his brother. It was a memorable day.

Still struggling with blogger on this computer.  Hope it will be easier the more I use it.
