Living the Dream

Here I sit at the computer with my bowl of vanilla ice cream and fresh raspberries, watching my kids run and play in the rain. Sigh of happiness.
I have no idea in what order the pictures are appearing, so here's the explanation.

The picture of me? That's what I looked like today when the girl at Subway glanced up at me, then took a second stare, saying, "Wow. You look just like Jennifer Aniston!" No, she wasn't blind, and yes, she did make my sandwich correctly so I can't question her mental state. We do share the same name, maybe that's it.

I've been having the kids collect all kinds of things to tape into their journals and write about. Hyrum "didn't kill" that butterfly. Just maimed it so it couldn't fly, but it still could move enough to send Evie into a screaming hysteria.

And the picture of the boat on the barn? That's something I need to ask one of the natives about tomorrow. Many of the barns and houses around here have quilt blocks painted on the side--what they mean, I don't know. But I love looking at them, and I have yet to see any pattern repeated. I took a picture of this one because my mom made my brother a quilt with this same boat pattern when he was young.

Tomorrow we're headed to the Crayola factory in Easton, PA, then to NYC to drop of a missionary package and Hoboken to meet the Cake Boss.

So many fun things to do. So little time.

  1. It's a little creepy how you can't see any color in your eyes in that first picture... Just sayin' :)

Love you guys! Glad you're having fun!

  3. Haha I admit, I was thinking the same thing as Heidi. I'm so jealous of the amazing adventure you guys are having. Also, I find it slightly comical that Evie's afraid of butterflies. Poor girl! Glad you all are having a blast!
