You Should Blog About It

This tower--the pride of Micah's day yesterday.

When I exclaimed over its amazingness, he immediately said, "You should blog about it.  Take my picture."

So I dutifully snapped a few pictures with him fully confident that I would blog about him and his accomplishment.

Then it occurred to me that I hadn't blogged even one time since I've been home from my Grand Adventure--not once.  It's not that I don't have any pictures to edit or that I don't have anything to say about our trip, because I do--about 1600 pictures to edit and 400 individual tales to tell, to be honest.

But something changed while I was gone--something I can't quite articulate, even though I've tried to formulate a post about it for a week now.

Our Grand Adventure reminded me of my priorities and refocused me on my family.  Posts haven't come spilling from my consciousness the way they used to--unbidden and often.  Now I think, "I should blog about that,"  but the time to write is elusive--filled with I don't know what else.  Not Facebook.  Not playing.  Not cleaning or organizing or reading.

I have missed my little corner of cyberspace, to be honest.  I have missed reading about you all and your exploits, to be sure.  And I certainly don't want to miss compiling my memories and thoughts and opinions.

So, in short, in the immortal words of Arnold Schwarzeneggar . . .

I'm Back.

And it feels good to be blogging again.

See you tomorrow.

  2. Summer is time for the children and all the things we put off during the school year. I imagine that once the routine sets in again you'll find that slice of time for connecting in cyberspace. Enjoy the rest of the holidays!

  9. Good to see you're back. I was going to send you a Facebk message just to check up on you. It is always good to step back for a bit though and concentrate on what is important. I'm doing well but find it hard not to overdo things- easier said than done this week as hubby is away. Hope the back to school shopping is going well if that is getting closer. I'm currently watching Olympic coverage of the synchronised diving - amazing. The opening ceremony was impressive too. Take care, Cath

  10. Your kids are so fun and cute. Boys full of life and energy, that's what those two are. Sometimes after a big adventure we need time to decompress, but I'm glad you're back.

  12. I've been MIA, too, ever since Dave retired. I feel like we're on vacation all the time.

But I have missed everyone, too, and will make time for my blogging one way or another...

    =)
