There's No Place Like It

It might not look like much to you.
But to me, this sandy soil covered in sagebrush tumbles and basalt monoliths is home.

No matter how long I live in Arizona's blistering climate, I will always claim the high desert plain of southern Idaho as home.

Like Scarlett O'Hara's beloved Tara with its red clay earth, I find strength every time I return home.

Dorothy was right, you know.

  1. I really do get it. I'm always happiest within sight of the sea.

  3. For me, it's the mountains. I didn't appreciate them so much growing up but I do now every time I go 'home'.

  4. I think we all feel like that about wherever we call home. Yes, for me it's the ocean as well.

  5. The barren sagebrush covered ground of home always gives me a calm peaceful feeling and for some reason I love it, too.
