First Blood--And It Was Ours

If you've been reading Denton Sanatorium for very long, you've probably heard about #5 who plays for Heritage Hero football. They've been state champs three times in a row. It's been so fun to watch Ben play.
This year is his senior year, and he has earned his spot on the field. Unfortunately, there are very few other seniors on the team this year.  In fact, there are few who have much football experience at all.  Ben went into the season opener quite nervous.

He should have been.
Every time we play this team, there is trash talk, dirty play, and poor officiating.  Even I can see the penalty in the above play.  Was it called?  Ummm, no.

Ben had a great game.  He starts both sides of the ball and rarely stands on the sidelines.
See the score?  Ben scored both of Heritage's touchdowns in the first half.
Handoff to #5
Yeah.  Well, then the Heroes fell apart.  Bad.
Final score--NFL-YET: 24 Heroes: 14.

What a bummer. On the bright side, NFL is supposed to be the team to beat this year, and if our boys can think through an entire game, we can probably beat them.

It's still early in the season.

  1. doesn't that trash talking and poor sportsmanship just get ya everytime? What is it about making another team feel small? I don't get it!

Hopefully things will look up for the Heros...we lost on Friday too. Same scenario a really cocky, yucky team!
