Weddings and Families

Weddings are all about families--two families coming together to begin a third new family. Family is important to Tucker and Karli, and you can tell by how they spent their time when they came out of the temple.

Karli is one of the oldest cousins on her side, and so is Tucker, so there were many awestruck cousins to swarm them in the 107-degree AZ weather.
It was so hot.  Melting hot. Sweltering hot. Run-to-Sonic-as-soon-as-you-got-in-your-car hot. A hot that can only be experienced in Arizona.

I didn't get a picture of the bride and groom.  I didn't get a picture of me with my son or even one with me and Brad.  There was no time--I don't know where the time went, but it disappeared.  The reception sneaked up on us, and before we knew it, it was time for pictures.  Half the people weren't here yet, the portable air conditioners kept getting unplugged, and the kids kept disappearing and threatening to get dirty. The only picture I wanted that night was one of my entire family--together for the first time in over two years. Only by the sheer force of my will did we all get together in the same picture.
As the wedding photographer was snapping this, my bestie, Karen, snagged my camera and captured the moment.
It's a little blurry and a little dark and a little crazy (what was I expecting?), but at least I got my wish. I hope the pro got a better one.

And there was no one at that wedding cuter than Nathan.  There's something about a man in a bow tie . . .
. . . that's even cuter on a little man.

  1. awesome pictures! your family is beautiful. karli is a gorgeous bride. and i love tucker's zoolander pose below :)

family is the most important thing there is. you must be so proud to know you instilled such good values. congratulations to you and your hubby :)

  2. would have been a better picture if I could have looked thru the eye view piece instead of the screen - no glasses and it all is blurry to me (so sad to get old!) but I kept pushing the video record button with my thumb...your poor camera had a newbie on it. I hope I got some kind of shots...should have given it to Brenn!

  3. I love that phrase...by sheer will alone:)

    Love Evie's face!

    Glad it went off well!

  4. I hope I NEVER have to attend a wedding and stand around for pictures in 107 degree heat. Never.

    Her dress is GORGEOUS!

And that family picture is precious.

    Good job, you!

  5. Congratulations. Looks like a wonderful day.

  6. Love this. Such a beautiful couple...and how gorgeous is that family! :)

  7. Oh my word. You are all gorgeous. What a beautiful picture. And I know how hard it must have been to get everyone together to get it. What a treasure to remind you of this wonderful day.

  11. I'm impressed, I must say. Very rarely do I come across a blog that's both informative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you've hit the nail on the head. Your blog is important; the issue is something that not enough people are talking intelligently about.
