Foto Friday--It Never Rains in Phoenix

These photos were taken twelve days ago.
Whoever thought to design clicky-clack glass slippers that actually fit size 8 feet deserves some sort of award.
Twelve days ago, Evie decorated our front sidewalk with letters, numbers, pictures, and names.  For the first time in twelve days, all of her drawings have been washed away.

As we were talking with Ben and Lily before bed last night, our house was momentarily lit by an unusually bright flash of lightning, then the house shook from the loudest, longest clap of thunder that I've ever heard.

I love storms. I love rain.  I love the smell of wet cement.  I love the feel of the mist on my skin.  I love the sound of thunder and pitter-patter drops.  I love the color of thirsty desert plants as they renew themselves each time a precious drop touches their leaves.  I love the darkness of the rare truly cloudy Arizona day.
Have a fantastic fall weekend, friends.  Six days until Thanksgiving.  Can you believe it?

  1. I loved rain when I lived in the desert, too. It has a special smell there.

And no, I can't believe Thanksgiving is a week away. I'm excited!

    =)
