Gilbert Temple

Taking energetic little kids to the Gilbert Temple open house?  We survived it.  In fact, my kids loved it and were actually quite obedient.

On the drive to the temple, I started talking to the boys.

"No hitting.  No yelling.  No running and playing.  None of that wild stuff.  It's like going to Church but even more reverent, ok?"

After processing what I said, Hyrum called from the back seat: "But Mom, that just isn't my thing."

I tried to stifle my belly laugh at his comment, and then I told him that was too bad.

Our friends the Tuckers went with us.

They are the best.
They took turns carrying kids, holding hands, and explaining beautiful things.
And the kids were very reverent, respectful, and kind.
Although personal photography isn't allowed inside, you can follow this link to a short video about the Gilbert Temple.

  2. I remember when they had a satellite broadcast of a temple dedication, and allowed the youth to attend. I asked one of my children if they would like to come, and they specifically told me that they couldn't sit still for that long, so they preferred to not come. I actually thought that was a pretty honest evaluation, and I think they were right. lol
