The Newest Brubaker

It's been crazy around here, and I haven't found moments to edit the pictures I took on January 3, 2016--this little guy's birthday.
Thomas Bennett Brubaker was born just after midnight on 1/3, and before he was nine hours old, he met his three older siblings.

They couldn't get enough of that baby from the start.
Heidi was a little worried how Jonah would feel being displaced as the baby, but his face tells it all.

I love the look Heidi is giving her little boy. So much love in that look.

Don't you just want to squeeze his chubby cheeks?
These two were excited, too. The hospital required them to wear masks even though they weren't sick. It lasted for a few minutes, but once they were in the room, Sam allowed them to take them off until they left.
There's that same look again . . . same mom, different son.
These kids have no idea how lucky they are to be part of this family. Heidi and Sam are amazing parents who love their kids and create the best home for them.

Even little children understand how precious brand new babies are . . . and want to kiss on them.

This made me laugh. Sam asked Jonah if he wanted to see if he fit in Baby Thomas's bed. Jonah didn't really want to see, but Sam did!
Jonah fought his way out of there as fast as he could!

Those first moments in the hospital are so amazing, and photos can't really capture it well. I was so grateful to be there for Thomas's first day . . . and the next few as well.

  1. Congratulations. I just love new babies.

  2. Utterly precious. The look on the newest big brother's face as he holds the baby says so much about the love he's growing up with.

  3. Why is it that so many of your posts get me teary these days? Families are so beautiful, in good times and bad. Do you think I'm just getting old and weepy?
