Milestones--Installment #6

Ben showing his best "male model" face"
When writing about my kids, I always try to protect their privacy and share only things they would want shared.
Ben's milestone--a private one. Let's leave it at this: Junior high teaches lessons about ourselves and others. And sometimes others are not that kind.
I hate junior high.

  1. Soooooo with you, I hate Junior High too. Which is funny because I loved it when I was actually in it. However, watching my kids go through it makes me cringe. I dread the day my sweet little girl hits those halls, I'm sure the girls are 100 times meaner than the boys.

  2. oh Jen..me too. Sometimes I think about just pulling my kids out of school and homeschool..wait, did I say that? I take that back...I commend the women that homeschool..I just know I couldn't do it. Yes, jr. High is tough. On them and us! Cute pix of Ben!

  5. Me too. Wouldn't repeat it for the world. But from seventh to ninth, I sure grew a lot. Too bad Ben has to be in Junior High still...he's depriving the world every moment he does something other than model, and it really isn't fair. :)

  6. I remember feeling like I was throwing my oldest daughter to the wolves when she entered Jr. High. It is a rough period of life.

  7. Oh boy must have been a whopper of an experience! I think Jr. High can be most brutal!

  8. What a good looking boy you have! But you're right - Jr High is not for the faint hearted. It's rough on the kids, and just as rough on the parents. My kids had some bad moments there, but they also grew a lot of character. The trick is to grow more character than phobias. As long as home is a safe haven - and I have a feeling yours is!

  9. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I just started so it is really nice to gain some support. =) BTW I teach seventh grade English. I feel your pain (65 times) each day! Believe it or not, they are not all middle school alien life forms. Their original selves are still somewhere inside of those model poses.
