This and That and the Other Thing

Did you miss Foto Friday? Did you know that this last week was Spring Break, and we've been in Utah all week? Did you know that more than half of the people in my neighborhood deserted gorgeous AZ spring in search of snow? Did you know that Arizonans are that crazy?
Well, now you do.
This is me and Hyrum in front of the shark tank at The Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy, UT. If you're ever there, it's definitely worth your time.

Questions from the week:
None of the actual pictures were harmed in the kamikaze mission of last week. And they should be hanging on the wall, in their new frames with strong wall anchors, by this time tomorrow.

When Hyrum insulted my hair skills, my hair did not look like it does above. Half was pulled up and off my face. I'm in that awkward in-between-styles stage. Great timing for a wedding, no?

The green sideboard in my family room was found on Craigslist, along with its counterpart armoire, which lives on my back patio. Both were sanded and painted. I just might post about them this week . . .

Thanks so much for your sympathy for my mid-life crisis. I needed every comment, and I'm so grateful for you all. It makes life easier to know that I have a few friends out there walking through this with me. I especially loved this comment from Karen: "The new dimension becomes a jewel so beautiful you could never have imagined it. Happy days, my friend." Here's to a new jewel in my life. Hopefully I won't spend too much cash on beauty products and SPANX before this wedding.

And a great-big shout-out to my best bud, Karen (another Karen. As of last count, three separate Karens commented this week). She assembled, addressed, and sealed all of Heidi's announcements for me while I was playing in UT. I hope everyone has a friend like that in their lives. If not, email me, and I'll give you her number! Love you, Karen!

Have a happy weekend! We're off to reseal gates, weed garden beds, assemble arbors, clean garages, organize sheds, wash doors, pressure-wash houses . . . .

  5. I am just catching up with blogs after a busy week - Looks like you are running pretty crazy too! Lots on your list and it looks like I need to do some reading to catch some things I missed - Kamikaze mission? Hair skills? Green sideboard?

Glad you got away and found some snow (snicker snicker) and I am off to read!!

Good luck with all you have to do.

  6. Oh to think that you were so close. I hope you enjoyed Utah. Can you believe I haven't taken my kids to that aquarium? I guess that's what happens when you live close to it.

  7. Before a big day its always good to do a little playing. I'm watching to see how you weather the day, as our wedding is coming up in June. I've been through 3 others but each one seems to have it's own personality and life. I always take notes on what others do that works. And about that beautiful jewel? Trust me, even though it's gorgeous you are still going to want beauty products and Spanx. At least in this life. (Does anyone else break into a total sweat struggling into those Spanx? If not, I'm in worse shape than I thought.) Good luck in the days ahead - the hard work will be rewarded with a beautiful wedding! It's kind of a last gift to your child while they're still your child. Oh dear... *tearing up* Pass the Kleenex!
