Dear Hyrum

Dear Hyrum (aka Rum Diddy, Rum-za-Dizzle, Hyrum Kimball Denton Mommy's Boy),

Thank you for today.

Thank you for being my buddy on all my errands.

Thank you for being patient while we stopped at Sam's Club, Toys R Us (and didn't even beg me to buy you a toy), the mall (and we took the time to ride the escalator up and down, just for fun), and Target.

Thank you for sharing your chocolate milk with Evie, even though you didn't want to.

Thank you for not throwing any fits or whining or complaining.  Not even once.

Thank you for falling asleep in the car on the way home, and then staying asleep as I carried you upstairs, wrapped you in your silky and tucked you into bed.

Thank you for being my little boy.

I know this time together is short.  Before I know it, you'll be in preschool, then kindergarten, and these adventures will be a thing of the past.  I know they will never come back, because I've already filed these days with Heidi, then Tucker, then Ben, then Lily, and then Micah.  Filed in the "Memories" folder.  I cherish these moments.

I love you.

Love,
Mom

  1. It is when I read posts like this, that I wish I had started my blog many years ago. I love the picture, and of course the words. I can't believe he shared his chocolate milk, that is something usually much older children would agree too. You tell him what a wonderful older brother he is for me.
    Take care,
    Dana

  2. That is quite a feat for Hyrum. I'm sure he doesn't love shopping, unless of course there is an escalator.
He has to be an angel....not asking for a toy in a toy store??? Wow. Unheard of.

    Loved your words.
    They made me smile.
