First Foto Friday of 2011

This week's best shots:
Evie's personality is starting to shine. Plus, she got her first hair trim so she doesn't look so scraggly.  Mom had to be convinced, but it really is better.
Can you help me convince Ben that women love men who can cook?  Even if they wear a vest with pj pants, it's the finished result that matters.
Look closely.  Do you see Micah?
Now can you see him?
I seriously cannot get this boy away from the piano.  Every spare second he's there, picking out one of his songs or moving them an octave higher or lower, or even trying to move them into a different key.  I've had four kids in lessons before him, and he's the first I've never had to beg to practice.  Maybe I'll have a pianist kid after all . . .   Note the vest with the T-shirt.  He had to copy Ben. Very cool.
This has to be one of my favorite pictures of Hyrum ever.  Notice how neither of his feet are touching the ground?  That kid runs from the second he wakes up until he crashes in bed at night.  And this was a very special day.  He was running to his very first birthday party.  When he got the invitation, his face lit up, and he exclaimed, "I get to go to a birthday party!  Like Micah!"  And there was cake.  That's what mattered to him!
Somehow Lily eluded my lens this week.  Sorry, Lil.  Still my favorite!

I couldn't resist messing with this one in Picasa.  Oh, how I love to squish this baby.  She's the best!  And . . . she's almost walking!  Finally!
Have a great weekend!

  9. Love the pictures! All of them! And yes. PLEASE make him understand the love women have of a man who can cook. And by cook I mean do more than boil water! I wish my husband could cook us a good meal! I'd take that over any other chore! I fully plan to teach Tucker to cook!

  10. Yes, Ben- we women do love men that can cook (top ramen doesn't really count either). I love that Hyrum is your piano enthusiast- he looks so cute sitting there at that big piano

  13. I dont cook...my husband does. Tell Ben to keep at it because he may be unlucky and marry a wife that hates cooking. ;)
And I seriously love Evie. She is such a gorgeous little doll. Yay for her finally almost walking! I feel the same way about my son. He's been an official walker for 2 weeks now but he did just turn 15 months so it was about time! :)

  22. What fun for Hyrum! Tate is-oops, was-just like that with the piano. Funny to have to command a child to stop practicing, so the opposite of what comes naturally! Can't wait to see some video footage of Evie walking! BTW-am LOVING my notes, thanks so much! I tried copying, pasting and printing from the blog & it was not so pretty!

  23. I absolutely love seeing Evie in those headbands of hers. They make her so adorable. I wish I can get Ellie to do the same. She's already too much of a tomboy to ever let me put cut things in her hair though.
