Happy Birthday to the One l'll Never Know but Always Love

It's not very often that I'm actually awake at 12:03 am on September 10th. I was this morning.

The exact minute that my life changed forever.
Nine years.

Happy Birthday, Sister.

Love,
Mom

  1. Happy Birthday, Ella. Maybe Ella and Emma can celebrate with some kind of heavenly cake together. :o)
Although I sincerely wish that you could hold Ella in your arms, your experience helped me beyond what you could possibly imagine as we lost our Emma. For that, I will continue to bless your name throughout all eternity. Please know that because of Ella, MY life has been eternally blessed - because in that moment, you were the ONLY one who knew my pain, my suffering, and truly cried the same tears as I did.
You and Ella will ALWAYS hold a very special place in my heart! Thank you. For everything.

  6. What a beautiful tribute Diana left you. It somehow makes me feel better when I realize my own pain has allowed me to help ease the burden of another. I hope you felt peace and joy when you read her words, and comfort in all you know and understand. Love you.
