Foto Friday--Always Remember

Gettysburg, 1863. I reflected on all the lost lives, changed families.  Such devastating loss--over 11,000 casualties from one battle alone.

Then my mind wandered to 2011.  There may be fewer casualties, true.  But there are still heroes, still loss, still mourning families.
Take a moment today to remember our modern-day heroes and their families, standing sentinel over us and our country.

Thank you.

  5. Thanks for the beautiful reminder, Jen. Living in a country that doesn't celebrate Veteren's Day makes it easy for me to forget the significance of November 11th. I have friends who fought in the war in Iraq and many of them came back safely. I should send them a quick note of thanks for all the bravery that they have shown :)
