Can Anybody Lend Me a Pea?

Things may be getting a little out of control around here. I've always had a little bit of a problem with auctions. I love the thrill of bidding wars and treasure hunting.

Now that we have an entire cabin that needs to be furnished, I've been back on the auction scene.

And I've gone a little crazy.
We need three queen/king beds. Stearns and Foster--brand new at the auction--less than $400 for complete sets. My kids thought they were in a famous fairy tale.
It didn't end there.
My treadmill and fan are still sandwiched in the corner of the storage room, but they now have company. It's like an I Spy book--can you find dressers waiting to be converted to bathroom vanities,  a gateleg table for games and puzzles, vintage footlockers . . .
. . . two chairs that will be fantastic once they get reupholstered (can't beat $30 apiece), a wood desk chair, and a cane-backed couch that will make an amazing porch swing? Oh, and a full-size leather couch still wrapped in plastic?

There may be an extra piano somewhere else in the house. Just maybe.

It was $250.

Now if they could just get the cabin built.

It might help if they would break ground first--that should be next week. Permit has been filed with the city, and the excavator has us on his schedule. This is getting real, folks!

Four months from breaking ground. So, we will only need to store all of this fabulous stuff until . . .

. . . the first week of November.

I need to rein it back a little bit.

But I'm just so excited!

  1. My husband would KILL me if I bought all that stuff for a cabin that they hadn't broken ground for yet. KILL.

Be glad your husband is more patient than mine.
