A Pink Explosion

There are issues in the world today upon which I have strong opinions.

I could post about the stupidity surrounding the David Letterman disclosure, but does it really deserve more than a perfunctory "IDIOTIC EGOMANIAC," and leave it at that?

I could post about the stupidity surrounding the labyrinth I had to negotiate just to get Hyrum a flu shot, but does our health care system need any more press devoted to it now?

I really will post about the kindness, generosity, friendship, love, and acceptance that currently surround me:
If you read my Facebook opinions, you know that I was somewhat of a society-imposed loner as a kid.
My mom has repeatedly said that if it took enduring that childhood to have the friends I have now, then it was worth it. And I couldn't agree more.
Never in my life have I had such friends. I would venture to say that few people in this world have friends like I do. They truly are the best.
Who would have ever thought of a baby shower for someone's eighth child? My friends. Who would have taken the time to come celebrate such an occasion? My friends. And it was truly a sight to behold.
Homemade blankets and quilts. Diapers, wipes and lotions. Onesies by the threesies and foursies. Darling dresses and hairbows. And the shoes! The SHOES!
A few ladies suggested that I'd need to have another baby just to use all the gifts. Probably not. One lady suggested that I could just save it for Heidi. Don't say that out loud!
Just know how much I love you all, and how much last night really meant to me.
Now I have the treat of going through it all and reliving the excitement.
Epiphany #98--Good friends are like flowers--they come in every shape and size and fragrance, and you can never have too many in your bouquet.

  3. I'm glad they treated you so well, Jen. The only thing that would make me happier is if I could have been there, too!

  4. Your shower was so much fun, I loved how Lily had an official job! She (and Annika) were fabulous helpers. You got the cutest stuff, I really will have to come oooh and aaahhh over the closet when you get it all put away. Almost as good as the shower was shopping for the shower! All that adorable baby girl stuff, almost tried to convince Jeff we needed another one, ALMOST, but not quite.

You deserve every bit of the love and pampering that was showered upon your cute self!

  7. Oh how I wish I could have come. I was planning on it - even stayed in bed all day so I could but when it came to to get ready - there just wasn't enough gitty up in my go. I'll come by soon.
