Slightly OFF-Kilter

Brought to you today by the letter "O"
Jenny Matlock
Like the new arrangement on my kitchen shelf?
Do you see anything OUT of the ORDINARY? OFF kilter?  Look closer before proceeding to the next picture.
Lily made the frosting for Ben's cake. She must have been saving this tasty treat for when her pesky brothers weren't around.
I found it three days later.

  4. PS: I just added your blog to my blogroll because the dashboard is too many clicks away.

    Does that make me lazy?

  8. Now THAT'S funny! I don't think I've ever forgotten a knife loaded with frosting in my life. But I was never trying to hide it from anyone either. Thanks - that gave me a good laugh.

  9. That is hysterical. Hey, she's a smart girl, she knows she's got to save the goods, lest they be eaten by the man cubs around there.

  16. how funny is that! do kids think we won't find stuff like that? Will had to re-do some math homework and didn't want me to see it...instead he hid it under the table. We will find it! Even if it's 3 days later!

  19. JEN. I'm HEAVING with laughter over your comment on my last post. Because....wait for it...I said that exact thing to the Bear word for word. VERBATIM. "Of course I didn't make it up - how do your read pronuciations in the dictionary?" He said, "What pronuciations?" And HE WAS RIGHT. There are none. Either we have the only dictionaries made before 1876 or they don't have that part of the entry over here. Everything is spinning. I need to lie down. I'm going to copy this and post it as an afterthought in that blog post because I feel I need to.
PS: Funny you should say award. :)

  24. The girls know to lick the spoon right away. As mom always finishes it off for them if they aren't quick enough. Love the orange.

  28. That is precious and brought a laugh and smile to my lips. With three teenage boys, we know all about hiding treats for later.

    You have a lovely blog.

  29. Sometimes you just have to hide food when there are a bunch of boys around...especially the good stuff!

Does it make you wonder where other food might be hidden? :)

  30. That was so sweet - thanks for the laugh! Best mantle arrangement I've seen in ages.
