Bit of a Breather

Sigh.
I just taught my last class.  One huge check off my to-do list.
I'm torn, because I have loved every minute of preparation and teaching. Every single minute.

What I won't miss?
My desk looking like this every single day.
Now I have a few days to regroup.  A few days to finish shopping and preparing Tucker for his mission (TWENTY DAYS, PEOPLE!).  A few days to pack and organize before Heidi has her baby ( TEN DAYS, PEOPLE!)
A few days to figure out a solution to this:

Any guesses whose name starts with an H?  He promises me it wasn't sharpie, but I haven't yet figured out how to get it out of the chair's upholstery.  Any suggestions?
When I uploaded this picture, Hyrum was looking over my shoulder.  I glowered at him and told him I was still mad at him for doing this last night.
He thought for a second, then he said, "You won't still be mad at me tomorrow."  Then he gave me a hug laced with apology.
I'm not mad even now. Buddy.

  1. There's some products which claim to get these stains out (OxiClean comes to mind) but I've never tried them.

  9. Alcohol will sometimes work on Sharpie marks. Hairspray is often suggested, but I believe it is the alcohol in it that makes it work. So skip the stick and try rubbing alcohol. I hope it helps!

  10. I hope it comes out. JDaniel is spending more time with crayons. He tends to get markers everywhere.

  12. God made kids cute for a reason -- but you are such a fabulous example to me (already) of not making the things more important than the kids (this and the Goldfish one). I'm trying to remember to lighten up and take pictures now...

  13. Tide stick should get it out , don't know if it will work but it's my best solution . If that doesn't work steam clean it !

  14. Just when you're so mad, they go and act so sweetly. That Hyrum...
You have a lotta living coming up, but it's all good stuff. Tiring, but good stuff.
PS If it's ballpoint, Pam is right. Hairspray works!

  16. Oh my goodness, you have a lot on your plate. Good thing you have one thing checked off. You must be over the moon excited for that little one to show up. I'm a long way off yet, but can already imagine how special it must be.

  17. Wow, so much exciting things in your life going on...even the letter "H" on the upholstery.

This link has a bunch of ideas on how to get it out:

Or you could just start using the couch as a guest book!

    Thanks for the smile!

    Thanks for linking.

  18. Oh... Well now your sofa matches everything in my house! You might try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I don't know how well the work on fabric, but they sure work on everything else.

  19. Aww, why is it that kids can just give us a nice big hug and our anger instantly melt away? E does the same exact thing and it's so hard to stay upset with her when she draws on furniture too.

  20. Oh the Hyrum boy- Alcohol, the rubbing variety gets ink out.
