Back to School--Evie

Evie--Kindergarten
3'2.5" 34.5 lbs
Favorite activity: dance party in the kitchen
Favorite TV show: Caillou
Favorite movie: Barbie 12 Dancing Princesses
Favorite book: The Day the Crayons Quit

This girl has issues with fit, and it drives me INSANE!!!!  I tried to teach her about my Grandma Olsen's "beauty pinches," but she wouldn't believe me. Clothes are always too itchy or too tight or too . . . something.

Finding shoes is the worst. She has wide feet, so many of the dainty slipper shoes pinch her. She gets lured into the sparkly sequins every time, even when I tell her that they will hurt after wearing for more than a few minutes.
I had to force her to walk around in these sneakers because I knew they would fit her best. Usually I let the kids have full control over what they pick, but in her case, I could only let her choose between pink and purple of the same shoe. Mean, right? That's what she thought.

Kindergarten for Evie is a pink and purple explosion, just like I remember it being with Heidi. Her lunchbox--pink and purple. Her backpack--pink and purple. Her new shirts--Princess Sofia (purple) and pink.
She rode around on the end of the cart at Target instead of in the basket (like in this post--No More Tuesdays) because she's "big now--big enough for kindergarten." But still small enough to say "packpack" and "lellow."
It was pure joy to have her all to myself one final time before school started. I even succumbed to the begging for a treat and Sofia sunglasses.
My beautiful baby girl. All grown up. Kindergarten.

Watch out, world.

And I mean that.
